Cara D. Brumfield

Associate Attorney

Cara Brumfield practices in a wide variety of areas of civil litigation, including class actions, complex commercial litigation, and business, real estate, and commercial contract disputes. Cara also dedicates a portion of her practice to pro bono legal services by representing abused and neglected children in the foster care system through the Legal Aid Center of Southern Nevada’s Children’s Attorney Project.

Prior to joining Kemp, Jones & Coulthard, Cara was a judicial law clerk for the Honorable Mark R. Denton in the Eighth Judicial District Court. Cara graduated cum laude with an undergraduate degree in Marketing Science from the University of West Florida and graduated cum laude from the William S. Boyd School of Law.

While at Boyd, Cara was a judicial extern to the Honorable James C. Mahan of the United States District Court, District of Nevada and provided services as a mediator at Clark County Family Court through the UNLV Mediation Program. Cara also served on the leadership boards for Toastmasters International and the student chapter of the Nevada Justice Association, and was a student educator in the Kids’ Court School, educating children about the courtroom process. Cara’s article, A Generic A Day Keeps the Lawyer Away, was chosen for publication in the Spring 2017 edition of the Nevada Law Journal. 17 Nev. L.J. 429 (2017). Cara is admitted to practice in Nevada state and federal courts, as well as Arizona state courts.
